About The SafeZones Initiative

How our journey began
Where it all began

The SafeZones initiative

Has shared values, services, and experiences to build a safer network within our communities.

SafeZones believes..

  • In the value of community
  • The importance of providing an infrastructure for communities to become self sufficient
  • Advocating on behalf of those whose voices are not heard
  • Empowering children, young people, and adults to strive for success
  • Providing all children and young people with opportunities to access education, work experience, informal learning opportunities and to be safe

Quality

Purpose-built environments to bring about a greater sense of security within our communities through a diverse, holistic approach.

Community.

The wider community are still the most undervalued providers of care to a young person outside their family homes. We must engage and invest, to underpin and value those communities.

Growth.

To develop a strategic and sustainable expansion of a community led model, which is proactive rather than reactive.

Impact

• To work with local communities to provide safe spaces for young people if or when they are in need.

• Reduce local crime.

• Provide safe spaces in communities.

• Higher survival rate of stab victims due to local training.

• Educational support.

• Increasing aspirations and life choices.

• Advocating and sign posting.

History About Us

The SafeZones initiative was founded by two members of the local community who felt the emotional impact of youth violence within communities. They saw the vision to bridge the gap between young people, families, statutory organisations and voluntary organisations.

Later in their journey, they partnered with Community Youth London and YMCA Trinity Group. Creating a wider network and stronger opportunities.
